Emily Gowor - An inspiring life at 22. By Manny Molecular

Emily GoworEmily Gowor is a 22 year-old young woman who is a self-proclaimed Word Artist, Professional Speaker, and Consultant in Personal Transformation. Emily has studied extensively with Dr. John Demartini, and at this young age, has not only realized her dream of writing professionally for clients globally, she’s also helping people to shatter their illusions and transform their lives. Let’s break this down and make it clear – Emily actually helps people to clarify all the chaos in their lives, break down their fears and live in a state of gratitude, love and inspiration. And she’s only 22 years old.
A touch sceptical, I browsed over Emily’s Twitter page and personal website, looking for any in-congruency… or a miracle. How can someone at this age achieve a high level of self mastery, and then actually help people, probably twice her age to transform their lives? I’ve never seen anything quite like this. Most of my mentors are over the age of fifty. This isn’t to say that I believe there’s a point of enlightenment or self mastery where you reach perfection and don’t need to learn anymore... But just ask Emily, she’ll clarify that for you, and shatter some of your myths about yourself and the world at the same time!
Emily graciously accepted my request to interview her, and boy was I up for a surprise! I didn’t find that she was incongruent, pretentious or self exaggerating. Instead, I was humbled, and hoping that I was well-equipped enough for someone beaming with so much inspiration and knowledge about life. This isn’t a girl who has been fed her success with a silver spoon. Be warned: After reading this interview, you’ll no longer be able to use your age as an excuse to procrastinate from pursuing your dreams.

What would compel you to do this at such a young age... It’s not a very common career path, is it?

It’s like you almost don’t see an option because once you discover inspiration for yourself, it’s very hard not to want to share that. I discovered a dream for myself and my life – I realized that I can create my life into something that I would love it to be. I’ve had my fair share of challenges in life - I’ve had no money, I’ve been very depressed. Two years ago I was curled up in bed with no income and no desire for anything really. I didn’t even want to get out of bed. Over the last five years, I’ve looked at my life from every area, from many different angles. And what I’ve found is just who I truly am – something truly worth sharing.

Having focused on achieving this new level of authenticity so intensely, do you get this sense of being at home with yourself?

The more you focus on that evolution journey towards doing what you love instead of what you think you should do, the more you do that, the more you have those moments of feeling that you are ‘at home’. I can’t think of anyone on the planet that I’d rather be than myself. That’s huge, because really, most people want to be someone else. I would prefer to discover the magnificence of who I am than change myself to be somebody else. I’m at home in terms of what’s important to me. When I’m truly present and inspired, it feels as though nothing is missing, because time and space dissolve when you are present with the here-and-now. My life is a balance of feeling the drive to be more, do more, have more, and this authenticity, the seeking of the ever-greater love, the expansion, the evolution which sits underlying all that.

What have you learned from your studies with Dr. John Demartini, and your overall life experience?

I know with absolute certainty that my life is magnificent. I know that nothing is ever missing. I know that there’s only a transformation, and the master lives in a world of transformation. Every day I aspire to have greater mastery over my self, and greater mastery of that work. That’s my philosophy for life. There’s no emotional challenge that I can’t deal with, particularly from applying the work of Dr. John Demartini… his methodologies and principles are that profound that you get an astronomical perspective on your own life. Being broke, raped – which I’ve experienced – having your family reject you, someone projecting their values onto you, losing your kids, your family dying, relationship turmoil – it’s no longer the end of the world or a challenge that can’t be broken down into love and gratitude. It’s a unique perspective, but something that’s going to stick with me for the rest of my life.

What are the services that you provide for people? You are obviously more than a ‘Word Artist’.

Within my writing, I do writing for both myself and clients from around the world. I write anything from interviews, award profiles, professional profiles, and website content to book manuscripts. I am particularly inspired writing about people and their journeys through life. I write anything that will assist people to be inspired about overcoming their challenges.
I also do one-on-one consulting and mentoring for clients in hourly packages. I work with people to clear the blocks between where they are and where they would love to be on the next level – every person deserves to live a life that inspires them. It doesn’t matter what their seven areas of life look like when they walk in the door. My consulting is about taking people to a greater level of inspiration and clarity. Professional speaking and workshops are also being developed right now - stay tuned for more information!

Do you feel that you could do what you are doing for the rest of your life?

Yes I do. The form of my mission and purpose may change over time, but I know that the essence of my expression will stay with me for life.

What daily actions would you recommend for people who want to create lasting change in their life?

If I could give three actions that somebody could take, they would be:

Count Your Blessings This is a habit I learned from Dr. Demartini. I have now listed over 5,000 things that I am grateful for in a word document on my laptop. The more grateful I become for life, the more clearly I think, focus, and stay tuned into my vision for life. Counting your blessings is a thanking process that helps you to build not only an appreciation for your life and other people but also for yourself as the creator of your life.

Focus On What You Love Take at least 5 minutes in the morning and at night to focus on all the things you would love to do. Alternate your ‘have to’ tasks with your ‘love to’ tasks and raise the inspiration and vibration of your day. I guarantee that you will feel lighter and produce more every day, and it will greatly assist you in creating the life you would love to live.

Keep Balanced The third thing I would recommend on a daily basis is look for the balance in your life – from people to places, things and events. Ask yourself at the end of every day: “What did I achieve today? Who did I serve?” and on the other side, “What didn’t I achieve today? Who didn’t I serve?” Keep yourself balanced between your highs and your lows. You will notice that you have clearer thinking and that you are more focused on the highest priority tasks during the day. Extreme emotion throws you off your game, balanced perspectives keep you in the game.

Emily is not your average 22 year old, that’s for sure. She is doing something special with her life and making an impact on the lives of others, but she’s also a real person. After the interview was finished, she laughed it all off and reminded me that beyond all the inspiration and focus, she still feels quite ordinary. “I’m just me,” she says, “I still spend time with friends and talk about mundane things. But I also do amazing things with my life. We can have big grand visions about our life, but we must also have the capacity within ourselves, and the humility to plan the finer details.” Emily has deeply embraced her ordinary and extraordinary nature to live an inspired life, touching the lives of people every day.
