@Truth_is_Being it is also timeless, spaceless, massless, chargeless; the unity of all opposites.

@Truth_is_Being agreed. True awareness is real & increases with practice. But even for a great sage, this state flickers on/off ad infinitum

@truth_is_being Total transcendence of ego is the greatest weapon of misdirection, because it's unattainable while we have a human body.

@Truth_is_Being awareness only brings about 'little deaths' of "I", proceeded by the return to a new form of egoic awareness.

Everything as it is, is as it has to be, and is a manifestation of the eternal presence in the world.

@Truth_is_Being yes. So what is the antidote or the next evolutionary step? Deprogramming? Imposing another set of assumptions and rules?

Reading Jung's biography, it's spooky how much I relate to his inner-world experience as a boy. Thought I was alone in that respect!

@SimonBoylan but you are right; from surface appearances, if you don't do what inspires you, vitality will drop, personality will alter, etc

@SimonBoylan there's no wrong career; it's the bridge to your deeper calling. True self is always present, just beyond layer of personas/ego

@DeepakChopra your response was so lofty and one sided, I don't think you are actually writing it. It's so obvious the person is unbalanced.

@cvposing I worded that last tweet terribly. I meant that spirituality divides *when* it is in the hands of narcissists. :p

@CVPosing spirituality also divides it is held by narcissistic personalities and posers who speak of unity but really isolate themselves.

All matters of the world of mind and matter are circumambulating around & oscillating between the central mean of transcendence.
Spiritual Teachers & Criticism
I've written down some fleeting thoughts in response to my observations of popular spiritual teachers in the social media scene. It is my observation that many contemporary gurus continue in the tradition of holding themselves untouchable and unquestionable, as if their statements come directly from the purest source of soulful knowledge. The fans and followers of these individuals continue to propagate this guru status, but in the process they dishonor themselves, projecting divinity and wisdom onto the teacher and denying in themselves.
I constantly see the remnants of warped spirituality still playing out in the modern world; a world in which information and knowledge is so readily available. I believe that new vistas have opened in the field of human potential, that we are in a prime position to be integrating the great tools and teachings from the many traditions and modern disciplines. I also believe that the wise human aspiration is not to be 'enlightened' or 'free from suffering' which is an unnatainable fantasy, but to be individuated, inspired, whole; to embrace the constant journey of evolution that leads to a meaningful and authentic life.
The existential challenge right now is that we are in bit of a limbo state; religion continues to wreak havok in some areas, millions in other areas are renouncing all religion and losing touch with any sense of existential inspiration, and the apparently progressive 'spiritual' groups are promoting a cocktail of religious idealisms, unattainable fantasies, and far-left escapist values that render people confused and passive in a world of increasing potential and complexity. As you will see, our project is one small offering in a new era of thought; we are taking great ideas from the east & west, alternative & conservative, ancient & modern, and doing our darnest to challenge, inform and inspire people to fully become who they are. If there are any ultimate values, it is to help people to be self-governing, self-inspired, self-empowered and independent of any one philosophy, religion, system or school of thought. To be whole is the great human aspiration. To do what is truly in our hearts. We all have such a short time on this earth; why spend it living beneath the forces of other's paradigms and expectations?
As promised, here are some recent thoughts for you to chew on in relation to modern spiritual teachers.

Just because you make a religious or spiritual claim to your life's work, this by no means makes it or you above criticism.
No human being holds exclusive spiritual knowledge or experience that every other human being doesn't have equal access to.
Both so called religious and spiritual authorities continue to propagandize and glamour their way into our minds, into the way we see and act upon the world, without being challenged. Nothing in this world should be above criticism and analysis.
"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation." - Oscar Wilde
Of course, we learn and form ourselves as individuals from a web of relationships; from our parents, family, friends and social institutions, and we can never claim to be 100% autonomous, nor need we even try. But what we can learn from experience and from great teachers, especially the founding fathers of psychology, is that as we progress, individuate, and self actualize, our capacity to think and live for ourselves expands and expands, and we become much more balanced, wholesome, free and integrated individuals. If we stay stuck in the situation of minimizing ourselves to other people's apparent truths, rules and philosophies, we can resist that process of individuation. Hence why I see it as important for us to challenge what is handed to us; to make our own informed decisions and be able to experience the world naturally, without the weight of outside authorities constantly hanging over our shoulders.
Some food for thought.
